Workshop Series: Exploring the Chakras w/Energy Medicine & Yoga Nidra

  • Freepoprt Yoga Company 81 Bow Street Freeport, ME, 04032 United States (map)

In the first of a series exploring the Chakras, we will begin with an exploration of the first chakra: Muladhara. Through the tools of restorative yoga, Yoga Nidra and reiki/energy work we will ease our first chakra into balance.
Located at the base of our spine, harmony in the first chakra is our gateway to security, trust and good health.

Balance in the first chakra allows us to create a grounded foundation to manifest prosperity and vitality in our life. When we are rooted in the intelligence of our first chakra & our body as a whole we are able to nourish ourselves fully in every way. Our experience of life becomes more purposeful and exciting.

We will begin with a short introduction to the subtle energy body and the importance of the first chakra to our wellbeing. We will then nestle into supported restorative postures to cultivate grounding in the body.

To facilitate the benefits of the restorative postures, Sarah will offer gentle hands on mobilization and adjustments to the physical body. Energetically, she will additionally provide (hands on or off) support to maximize the energetic focus of our practice. Sarah offers a strong background in manual therapy, and energetic healing techniques.  A few of the tools she may employ include Sensory Integration, Myofascial Release, Subtle Alignment Technique ( Meridian work), Reiki, Acupressure. Amanda will guide a Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) experience to ease you into deep relaxation with the intention of cultivating connection to the first chakra.

This offering will be limited to ten participants so we are able to give ample hands-on work and attention. No experience is required — just an open heart and mind. Participants are encouraged to bring a soft blanket to this offering.

Sarah and Amanda love working together. Both women are passionate about their work and it is palpable in the experience of their class. One student described them as “peanut butter and jelly." Their complimentary offerings provide a full spectrum experience that is intended to encourage health in Body, Mind and Spirit.
